Magic, Tattoos and Decor to Die For!

Use Your Imagination!
The Mill Barns was the first venue we contacted. I remember contacting the venue to arrange a viewing and being advised to wear sturdy footwear and to be prepared to wear a hard hat!
Despite the fact that when we viewed The Mill Barns it was just mud and rubble, we used our imagination, reserved our date and never looked back! Not only did the artist impressions look incredible but the ethos of the venue described by the staff sold it to us; a beautiful setting with the option to make the day your own, exactly what we were after.
The Vibe
All we ever wanted from our wedding day was to celebrate our love for each other with our friends and family in one big, relaxed yet fun party. There was no real theme as such, we just wanted the day to represent us and our love for socialising.
Christain Fletcher wowed our guests with his magic during our drinks reception whilst our garden games from Pollyanna’s Party Hire kept our little guests entertained, our temporary tattoo station from Doris Loves amused everyone and we were delighted with the relaxed and fun atmosphere throughout the whole day.
Rustic Decor
We wanted the beauty of the venue to be appreciated and for our décor choices to work in conjunction with the natural wooden beams and open spaces.
Nadia from JamJar Weddings and Events was our creative genius, like most brides I had spent hours on pinterest and had hundreds of ideas spinning around in my head but Nadia was the one to help and advise us on which ideas would work best and to put her twist on things.
The Flowershop at Codsall provided us with our card box and a sweetie bike – a hit with the adults as well as the children and Lilberts provided us with their rustic, light up LOVE letters.
Dazzling & Debonair
I wore an ivory, Morilee, floor length, relaxed fishtail dress with a halter neckline and keyhole back detail. I found it in 2have&2hold in Kidderminster who were absolutely fantastic. I have never felt as beautiful as I did wearing that dress, it was so comfortable too!
My bridesmaids wore floor length dresses with a low back and sateen bow detail in a neutral taupe colour to fit with our rustic theme. The Groom, Groomsmen and both Fathers wore a Marc Darcy, blue check, wool mix, three piece suit from The Dressing Rooms in Halesowen, finished with a custom made burnt orange tie and pocket square from The Tie Garden.
What’s Your Favourite Bit?
Every Second. We love thinking back to the day and remembering different things that happened and looking back at the photographs and video help us to relive it all every time we look at them.
We’d say…Do the day your way; invite who you want, wear what you want and have what you want!
Take some time at several points throughout the day, just the two of you; watch your guests from a balcony, take a walk in the gardens or escape to your room to take it all in.
Life Behind a Lens
A big thank you from The Mill Barns team to the incredible Amy Taylor Imaging for capturing and sharing every magical moment of their day.

His company, Patch Pictures is one of our Handpicked Suppliers and being a Groom at The Mill Barns, we reckon he knows a thing or two about how to record your best day ever!
