Wedding Venue Dressing Your Mill Barns Wedding

Wedding venue dressing your Mill Barns wedding

A guide to wedding venue dressing your Mill Barns wedding with the help of award-winning wedding stylist Nadia Woodall from Jam Jar Weddings and Events. They have been awarded West Midlands Venue Stylist of the Year for both 2019 and 2020 in The Wedding Industry Awards. Jam Jar Events are also members of The Mill Barns Dream Team.

Why do I need a stylist for my wedding?

Your wedding venue decorations and florals should be a reflection of you as a couple and is such an important part of your big day.

By using a stylist, you have both the fun and excitement of planning every detail to make sure you get the beautiful wedding you have been dreaming of. Creating the perfect wedding venue style for you. Removing the stress of creating, storing, setting up and then collecting and disposing of it all on the day of the wedding.

Here at Jam Jar, we can work with you to create your dream wedding venue dressing plan, so you can enjoy your wedding morning while we get busy putting it all together. All ready for your “wow” moment as you enter the ceremony barn.

Why do you love styling at The Mill Barns?

The Mill is a stylists DREAM venue. From the incredible wooden beams, the huge glass windows, the amazing balconies, the gorgeous outdoor spaces and THAT bridge! Literally everything about it is beautiful.

Although there are a million ways we can style this beautiful space, we really believe that the barn is breath-taking without any wedding decoration. That said, it is such an incredible canvas to add your own personal touches to your day.

Which is your favourite area to style at the Mill Barns?

It’s hard to pick just one as all of the spaces are beautiful, but the ceremony room has always been my favourite. From backdrops to florals, chair dressing, floor décor and utilising the hooks along the walls. It really is a dream space for saying 'I Do'.

What colours work well at The Mill Barns?

Because the barn is so natural, literally any colour scheme will be glorious. Personally, I like to follow the seasons with colours. However, we have styled red weddings in springtime and pastels in winter and they have all worked beautifully. My advice is to have a colour palette rather than try to get everything to be one colour.

“I don’t know what I want! Can you help?”

Absolutely! Planning a wedding can be a daunting experience, as a recent bride myself I can totally relate to how overwhelming it can be when you first type “wedding ideas” into Pinterest! So far, we have styled over 125 weddings and have another 130 booked into the diary. So we know a thing or two about how to plan your big day.

Our biggest piece of advice is to focus on what is important to you both as a couple. Whether it’s a theme, a colour, a specific part of the day or even a single picture you love. Once you find a place to start pulling it all together is a fabulous experience.

“I know exactly what I want! Can you help?”

Of course! Many of our couples come to the studio armed with a scrapbook or Pinterest board filled with their ideas. It’s our job to work with you to bring them to life.

At Jam Jar, It's always our intention to make everything in-house. So that your ideas are at the very heart of everything we create for you. We adore creating bespoke wedding decorations, and on the odd occasion we can’t make it ourselves, we will help you to source any items you need.

“Can I still create some of the decorations myself?

As a DIY bride, I know first-hand how amazing it is to see your own handy work come together to form part of your big day. Jam Jar Weddings and Events are more than happy to work alongside you to develop your own designs.

Providing that you meet our minimum spend, we are more than happy to combine our wedding venue dressing collection and florals with your own and items from other companies. If you need help then we have a fantastic team of suppliers who we love to work with and can recommend to you with the knowledge that they all do an amazing job.

“How do we book and what does it cost?”

Generally we book our weddings 12 – 36 months in advance (we are fully booked for 2020 and are almost full for 2021). We secure dates with either a £50 save the date deposit or a 25% package deposit.

Once your wedding is in the diary, you will get two consultations at our workshop. One at 12 months and one at around 3 months before the big day. These can be done over the phone or online. This is where we go through your entire wedding venue styling plan from colours to textures, typography to florals and everything in between.

Jam Jar packages have been set up to suit all budgets and requirements. As long as you reach our £400 minimum spend, we can create packages tailored to your day from all parts of the collection. The collection continues to grow throughout the year and we are always happy to add new items to the range to accommodate your ideas.
